Well it'd be just like goog detecting you clicking on adsense ads on your own site. They can and do detect/penalize this. Sure, some would evade by using public computers (not just different locations with your same laptop/cookies.. ) but that becomes quite inconvenient especially if you rely on downloaded apps.
